The sales, finance, inventory and executive views draw on a related synthetic operating dataset. Hotel and e-commerce examples use their own separate datasets. They demonstrate report structure and interpretation, not customer outcomes or live connected Power BI environments.

Sales & margin
The June example reports €83,517 in revenue, €21,965 in gross profit and 124 orders. Revenue is 5.5% higher than May, while gross profit rises 8.8%. Gross margin increases from approximately 25.5% to 26.3%.
Those results show an improvement in the aggregate margin, but they do not establish the cause. Product-level quantity, selling-price and cost comparisons would be needed to separate pricing, mix and cost effects.
Service kits contribute €24,910, or 29.8% of revenue. Account C-1012 contributes €18,350, or 22.0%. Review those concentrations alongside customer and product costs before treating the largest revenue contributor as the most profitable.
Finance & profitability
The finance report uses the same June revenue and gross profit as the sales example. Subtracting €14,800 of operating expenses from €21,965 of gross profit gives €7,165 of operating profit. After €320 of interest and €1,369 of illustrative tax, net profit is €5,476.
Receivables total €36,500: €22,300 current, €9,200 at 1–30 days overdue, €3,500 at 31–60 days and €1,500 over 60 days. An ageing breakdown helps focus collection review, but overdue balances are not automatically bad debts.
Check cost classification, recognised revenue, due dates and payment allocation before comparing periods. Profit is not the same as cash flow; a cash conclusion needs an appropriate movement and payment basis.
Inventory & replenishment
The inventory report shows €184,200 of stock across four categories. It also reports 962 of 1,000 requested units available, giving a 96.2% availability measure in this synthetic example.
June receipts of 710 units less issues of 660 units give a net movement of +50 units. This movement does not establish the closing unit balance without an opening balance. Eighteen items are below their illustrative reorder points; the table shows four of them.
Stock value, cover and reorder flags answer different questions. Confirm valuation, usage periods, units and replenishment lead times before changing stock policy. High cover alone does not prove that an item is obsolete.
Hotel operations
The hotel example assumes 40 rooms and 30 June days, giving 1,200 available room-nights. With 960 sold room-nights, occupancy is 80%. Room revenue of €129,600 divided by 960 sold room-nights gives an ADR of €135.
Revenue divided by available room-nights gives RevPAR of €108. The figures are connected: 80% occupancy × €135 ADR = €108 RevPAR. Room closures, taxes and non-room package charges need an agreed treatment in a real scope.
Online agencies contribute 50% of room revenue before commissions, direct bookings 37.5% and corporate bookings 12.5%. Those shares do not establish channel profit. Costs and cancellation treatment would be the next review.
E-commerce trading
The store example reports €92,400 of net sales after €3,600 in refunds. Product cost is €54,516, leaving €37,884 gross profit and a 41% gross margin before fulfilment and marketing expenses.
Across 960 included orders, average order value is €96.25. The KPI card rounds that amount to €96. The underlying precision matters when reconciling totals or comparing small period changes.
The channel table uses an illustrative last-click allocation. It reconciles to sales and order totals, but is descriptive rather than a causal estimate. Review attribution rules, unknown sources and cross-period refunds before reallocating marketing spend.
Management overview
The executive report combines the sales and finance sample figures with operational measures. June revenue, gross margin and operating profit agree with the detailed reports, rather than being independently invented summary numbers.
The operating example records 168 on-time deliveries out of 180 completed deliveries, approximately 93.3%. Stock valuation, receivables and open workload are shown as distinct measures with different units and business meanings.
A summary is a starting point for review, not a replacement for source detail. Follow an exception into the supporting report and confirm the definition before attributing a cause or choosing an action.
